How do I make an appointment?

What forms of payment do you accept?

I currently accept many forms of payment including cash, check, credit or debit, plus Venmo and Paypal. Please make checks payable to Hendrick’s Lutherie.

How long before my instrument is ready?

It depends. Smaller jobs like setups, cleanings, pickup troubleshooting/installing can be done very quickly, often within 1 to 3 days. Other jobs that fall into the restoration category, can take weeks, sometimes even months depending upon the extent of the repairs needed. Expedited services are available for an extra fee.

Do you sell guitar strings, or should I bring my own?

I stock D’addario Phosphor Bronze Light (12s) and Medium (13s), as well as D’addario electric guitar strings - Extra Light (9s), Light (10s), and Medium Light (11s). Customers are certainly welcome to provide their own strings! Also, special orders can be placed given enough lead time.

What types of instruments do you repair?

Acoustic and electric guitars, basses, mandolins, ukuleles, banjos, lap steels, resonators, and more. Just ask!

What kind of experience do you have?

I am a 2003 graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery. After graduating, I started work at a busy repair shop in Boulder, CO. Over almost 14 years there, I worked on thousands of instruments. I was trained by luthiers with a combined experience of over 85 years. I also spent 3 years working as a timberframer and 2D/3D drafter for Bensonwood Homes in Walpole, NH.

Do you install and repair pickup systems?

Yes! I am very experienced with a wide range of pickup systems for both electric and acoustic instruments and can help troubleshoot and optimize your pickup for output, balance, and tone. If you need custom wiring to bring out all the tones in your electric guitar or bass, I can help! For acoustic instruments, I am intimately familiar with brands such as Fishman, K&K, L.R. Baggs and many more.

Can I ship my instrument to you?

Yes, of course! Please call or email before doing so. I can help you make sure your guitar is packaged and shipped correctly!

Is your shop climate-controlled?

Yes, absolutely! My shop is well insulated and I keep the relative humidity level no lower than 40% during winter monthsand no higher than 55% during the summer months.

What types of repairs do you commonly handle?

I can accommodate almost any repair needs for all fretted instruments. Setups, nuts, saddles, fretwork (including compression refrets), bridge, brace, and structural repairs, cracks, headstock breaks, neck resets, finish touch-ups, hardware and pickup troubleshooting, replacement, and modifying.
